As a multi-disciplinary artist, my creative practice spans the realms of sculpture, bricolage, assemblage, painting, and video. These expressions are situational, flowing from a deep curiosity for materials ( almost like the instinct of a baby trying to lick whatever is within reach as a way of understanding ) and the shifting nature of my own movement. Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, I found my early world shaped by a love for language—where reading and writing were essential acts of making.
Now, more than half of my existence has been spent traversing the Pacific, living between South East Asia, Chicagoland, and in Los Angeles. My act of making is another way of translating tension of the borderlines of land, culture, body and the Spirit.
